Your Premium Knee Brace Guide

Your PhysioFit™ Premium Knee Support Brace is physio-recommended for knee injury, pain, and osteoarthritis — delivering moderate-to-high structured support alongside targeted compression.

What Makes the Premium Different

Med-Grade 3D Knit
Moderate-to-high compression with breathable structure — more supportive than standard elastic sleeves.
Gel Kneecap Ring
Cushions and guides the kneecap — particularly beneficial for patellofemoral pain, runner's knee, and jumper's knee.
Bilateral Stabilising Springs
Provides lateral support to help prevent the knee from giving way — essential for instability and wobbly knees.
Anti-Slip Grip
Stays in place during sport, running, and dynamic movement — no bunching or rolling down mid-activity.

How It Works

🧠
Improved Knee Awareness (Proprioception)

The Med-Grade compression provides continuous sensory feedback to the skin around the knee. This enhances proprioception — your brain's ability to sense where the knee is in space — leading to more coordinated muscle control and steadier, more confident movement.

🔒
Kneecap Tracking Support

The gel ring around the kneecap helps guide the patella through its natural movement path. This reduces friction, irritation, and the pain associated with poor kneecap tracking — particularly helpful for patellofemoral pain syndrome, runner's knee, and jumper's knee.

Lateral Stability — Spring Support

The bilateral stabilising springs work alongside your muscles to prevent excessive side-to-side movement of the knee. This is particularly valuable for those with wobbly knees, instability after injury, or osteoarthritis — providing the confidence to move more freely and safely.

💧
Compression for Swelling and Comfort

Structured compression encourages movement of excess fluid away from the knee while retaining warmth in the joint. This reduces puffiness, eases stiffness, and helps the knee feel more comfortable during and after activity.

A note from your physio: The Premium Brace provides structured support for higher-demand situations — but it works best alongside progressive strengthening, not instead of it. Use it during activity and flare-ups, and work toward needing it less over time.

Fit Check

Your brace should feel:

  • Snug but comfortable — not restrictive
  • Supportive without cutting off circulation
  • The gel ring positioned centrally around your kneecap
  • Springs sitting along either side of the knee joint

You should be able to:

  • Slide one finger under the top edge without resistance
  • Bend and straighten your knee through a full, comfortable range
  • Walk normally without pinching or rubbing

If something feels wrong — remove and refit

Numbness, tingling, throbbing, or colour change = remove immediately and contact us.

When to Wear It

✓ Best times

  • Sport, running, and high-demand activity
  • During return to activity after knee injury
  • Long walks or extended time on your feet
  • When the knee feels unstable or wobbly
  • Flare-ups of knee pain or osteoarthritis

✕ When not to wear it

  • Overnight while sleeping (unless clinician-advised)
  • As a substitute for strengthening or rehab
  • For fractures or conditions requiring immobilisation

Rule of thumb: wear for activity + flare-ups, remove when settled.

Quick Relief Routine — 2 Minutes

After putting your brace on, run through this short sequence to settle the knee into movement:

1
10 slow sit-to-stands from a chair — controlled descent and rise
2
10 gentle knee bends while standing — hold a surface if needed
3
30–45 seconds of relaxed walking — feel the support settle in

This promotes circulation, builds confidence in the brace, and reduces initial stiffness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear this for running and sport?

Yes — the Premium Brace is specifically designed for higher-demand activity including running, court sports, and return to sport after injury. The anti-slip grip keeps it in place during dynamic movement.

Is this suitable for knee osteoarthritis?

Yes. The combination of structured compression, kneecap support, and lateral stability makes this one of the most appropriate sleeve options for osteoarthritis — particularly those with pain, swelling, and reduced confidence in the joint.

I also have an Everyday Sleeve — when should I use which?

Great question. Use the Everyday Sleeve for daily comfort, desk work, light walks, and lower-demand activity. Use the Premium Brace for sport, runs, high-load activity, and flare-ups involving instability. They complement each other well — many people own both.

How long should I wear it for?

Use it during activity and flare-ups. As your knee strengthens and confidence returns, begin tapering — high-risk activity first, then progressively reduce. The goal is confident movement without dependence.

Can wearing a brace make my knee weaker?

A brace is a tool to support movement while you rebuild strength — not a replacement for it. Use it alongside progressive exercise, not instead of it. See the rehab resources below.

The Premium Brace supports you during activity. These are the tools physiotherapists recommend to build the strength behind the support.

A great companion product

  • Ideal for bilateral support if both knees need attention
  • A practical "light duty" option so the Premium is ready for when you really need it
